Suzy Thompson

Suzy discovered yoga in 1996 as a pediatric resident at Children’s National Medical Center. In this demanding environment, she found that yoga kept her calm, healthy and grounded despite her hectic lifestyle. She has continued to practice since that time, exploring different disciplines and the philosophy of yoga.
Suzy completed her 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training with Rolf Gates in April, 2012. She was been an instructor at Down Dog Yoga 2011 to 2013.
A practitioner of Iyengar yoga for thirteen years, Suzy developed a keen appreciation for alignment. Her discovery of Vinyasa yoga provided the perfect blend of vigorous flow, alignment principles, and the power of transformation. Becoming a teacher has allowed Suzy to share her passion and knowledge with her students. The opportunity to share her love of yoga with adolescents, particularly teen athletes, has been a long-time goal. Suzy is excited to bring her knowledge and skill sets from medicine and yoga together in order to encourage students towards healthy, empowered, injury-free living.
When she’s not practicing or teaching, you can find Suzy spending time with her twin boys and Westie. She enjoys skiing, surfing, and cooking for her family.
