This module may be divided into two long weekends.

Every morning we will begin with meditation and praniyama, then dive into a 2 hour 30 minute yoga practice. Using multi-dimensional flow, moving in a circle and rhythmic body vinyasa, you will be empowered to embody your body. through deep holding of posture, we aim to change the muscular memory patterns within the body.

Each afternoon will consist of 5 hour of interactive workshop study. Within this first module our main focus will be on the breath- life force or prana.  An Indepth study of the spine being the core and how the breath naturally creates extension in the spine.  We will study the function of the five main types of prana (life force). Where they reside in the body, how the prana vayu’s moves and are activated within the body. Using the breath as the primary guide, you will learn what is a body vinyasa, how to pulse in a posture, exploring opposite and the effects of repetition and stay in postures.

-  We will study the biomechanics of forward bends, back bends, twist, hips openers, inversions, and arm balances. There correct alignment, function and purpose based on the individual.
-  Learn howto adapt postures to maximize the full potential according to individuals need.

We will take an in-depth look into understanding each major yoga pose and the correct alignment required in basic standing postures. We will look at the function of each pose, what part of the body one has to activate, where the anchor is and how one stimulates stability in the posture. We will discuss opposite forces and how these opposites are stimulated using ones locks or bhandha and we will also look at how energy moves in each
posture.

Based one the information learnt in each posture you will be guided in how to use hands on assist on a student.

In this module you will discover how to practice and teach different praniyama techniques. The skull shinning breath (kapalabhati breath), the nerve cleansing breath (nadi shodhana) and ujayi breathe. You will learn how each breath effects the nervous system, and when and how to teach the different praniyama techniques based on individual needs. We will breifly look at how praniyama effects the autonomic nervous system (ANS).

We will begin our study into the structure of the body, the anatomy of the body, major muscle and bone structures- what poses help serve different major muscle.

From day one you will be invited to explore and discover your voice regularly through practice teaching. You will be able explore designing mini waves (sequences), that lead to a greater mind body opening. Within this module we will also take a look at the eight limbs of yoga based on the Yoga
